The difference between impact crusher and hammer crusher

Impact crusher and hammer crusher are two common types of fine crushing equipment, usually also known as secondary crusher, both of which are impact crushers. So, how should the selection of these two types of equipment be selected, and what is the difference?

IMPACT CRUSHER

1. Appearance

There are two series of hammer crushers, namely small hammer crusher and heavy hammer crusher. The shape we are talking about here is similar to the impact crusher, which refers to the heavy hammer crusher. The front of the hammer crusher and the impact crusher are similar, and the difference on the back is more obvious. The back of the hammer crusher is relatively smooth arc, while the back of the impact crusher is angular.

2. Structure

The impact crusher uses a 2-3 cavity impact plate to adjust the gap with the rotor plate hammer to control the fineness of the discharge; the hammer crusher uses the grate at the bottom of the screen to control the fineness of the discharge, and the rotor structure is a hammer head and hammer type.

3. Applicable materials

The impact crusher can be used for high-hardness materials with a stone hardness of 300 MPa, such as granite, river pebbles, etc.; the hammer crusher is generally suitable for low-hardness stones of 200 MPa, such as limestone, coal gangue, etc.

4. Flexibility

The impact crusher can determine the size of the machine’s output particle size by adjusting the rotor speed and the moving space of the grinding chamber, and the flexibility is greatly improved, and the flexibility at this point is much higher than that of the hammer crusher.

5. Damage degree of wearing parts

The wear of the blow hammer of the impact crusher only occurs on the side facing the material. When the rotor speed is normal, the feed material will fall to the striking surface of the blow bar, and the back and side of the blow bar will not be worn, even the side facing the material will have little wear, and the metal utilization rate can be as high as 45%—48 %. The wear of the hammer head of the hammer crusher occurs on the upper, front, rear and side surfaces. Compared with the plate hammer, the wear of the hammer head is more serious, and the metal utilization rate of the hammer head is only about 25%.

HAMMER CRUSHER

The use of impact crusher in the production line is more common, because it can handle more types of materials and the output particle shape is better, and it is mostly used in the secondary crushing link of major stone crushing and sand production. Relatively speaking, the application range of hammer crusher is smaller. The heavy hammer crusher has a large feeding port, the discharge particle size is relatively small, and the crushing ratio is large. The crushed material does not need secondary crushing, and can be formed at one time. The two types of equipment each have their own application areas, which should be selected according to their actual production conditions.
