SHANVIM introduces the structural features of jaw crusher

Jaw Crusher Frame Assembly

The fixed jaw plate is mounted on the front wall plate of the frame. Protective side liners are installed on the left and right sides of the inner wall of the crushing chamber to prevent wear on the inner side walls of the frame. The fixed jaw plate is secured to the front wall plate by fixed jaw wedges, facilitating disassembly. Protective side liners are also installed on the side wall plates of the frame.

The fixed jaw plate and the protective side liners are all high-manganese steel castings and should be replaced periodically based on the properties of the crushed material. When replacing the fixed jaw plate, first use special tools to lift and support the fixed jaw plate. Then, loosen the bolts of the fixed jaw wedges, remove the wedges, and finally detach and lift out the fixed jaw plate. The installation sequence for the fixed jaw plate is the reverse of the removal sequence: first position the fixed jaw plate, then install the fixed jaw wedges, ensuring they are tightly fastened using T-slot bolts. When replacing the side liners, first loosen the side liner bolts and remove the liners. The installation sequence for the side liners is the reverse of the removal sequence: first position the side liners, then install the side liner bolts. Ensure the side liners are properly positioned and tightly fastened with the bolts.

Moving Jaw Assembly

The moving jaw is a steel casting. The movable jaw plate is mounted on its front side. The upper part is suspended from the frame via the eccentric shaft and bearings, while the lower part is supported on the toggle plate, forming a sliding contact with it. Pulleys with tapered sleeves and flywheels are mounted at both ends of the eccentric shaft. A guard plate is installed on the upper part of the moving jaw to prevent wear caused by feeding material and deformation of the bearing bore, which could affect the service life of the moving jaw and the smooth disassembly of components like bearings.

The movable jaw plate and wedges are installed on the front of the moving jaw. The movable jaw plate is a high-manganese steel casting and should be replaced periodically based on the properties of the crushed material. To replace the movable jaw plate, first remove the movable jaw wedges. After the wedges are removed, detach the movable jaw plate. The installation sequence is the reverse of the removal sequence: first install the movable jaw plate, then install the movable jaw wedges. Steel plates can be welded onto the movable jaw wedges to achieve the purpose of tightly securing the movable jaw plate.

Bearings & Lubrication

Both the bearings for the moving jaw and the bearings on the frame are spherical roller bearings. The sealing for these bearings, as shown in the figure, is achieved using mechanical seals. The bearings should be lubricated with No. 3 synthetic lithium-based grease or an equivalent grease (Note: Greases of different brands and types should not be mixed). The amount of grease added to the bearings should be 2/3 of the free space within the bearing cavity. Grease should be added approximately every 40 hours of operation, and the grease should be completely cleaned and replaced every six months. When replacing the grease, clean the bearings thoroughly with kerosene and refill with new grease to 2/3 of the bearing cavity volume.
