Wear and tear during the daily operation of a jaw crusher is inevitable. Regular maintenance is key to extending its service life. Below are detailed maintenance methods for mining jaw crushers.
1.Start Feeding After Stable Operation: Begin feeding only after the crusher is running normally. Material should be evenly added into the crushing chamber. Avoid side feeding to prevent sudden load changes or uneven loading on one side.
2.Monitor Bearing Temperature: During normal operation, the temperature rise of bearings should not exceed 35°C, with a maximum allowable rise of 70°C. If the temperature exceeds 70°C, stop the machine immediately to identify and resolve the cause.
3.Use Lubricating Oil: Lubricating oil significantly reduces wear between machine components. Regularly lubricating the machine ensures smooth operation and helps extend its service life.
4.Choose the Right Lubricant: The type of lubricant used for the jaw crusher is critical, depending on operating conditions and environmental factors such as weather. Generally, calcium-based grease is recommended.
5.Lubricant Quantity and Replacement: The lubricant filled into the bearing housing should be 50–70% of its capacity. Replace the lubricant every three months. When changing the oil, clean the rollers and bearing tracks thoroughly with clean gasoline.
6.Use Clean Oil and Regular Replacement: Ensure that the oil used for lubrication is clean, and replace it regularly.
7.Lubricate the Thrust Plate Before Start-Up: Before starting the jaw crusher, inject an adequate amount of lubricant between the thrust plate and the thrust plate seat to reduce wear during operation. This provides a better working environment for the machine and effectively extends its service life.
8.Lubricate the Toggle Plate Contact Area: Before starting the machine, apply lubricant to the contact area between the toggle plate and the toggle plate seat.
9.Monitor Operation Conditions: During operation, pay attention to the bearing temperature, ensure proper lubrication, and watch for unusual noises or vibrations. If any abnormality is detected, stop the machine immediately to check for obstructions by non-crushable objects or potential component damage.
