Why Does Cone Crusher Get Blocked?
Generally, cone crushers are designed to minimize blockage due to their crushing principle. However, if blockage occurs, we can address it by analyzing the following common causes and implementing corresponding solutions:
Failure to adjust the discharge opening according to changes in feed material properties, leading to crushed material not being discharged in time and accumulating in the crushing chamber.
Solution: Regularly adjust the discharge opening based on the characteristics of the feed material.
Motor failure causing operational stoppage, which damages the crusher and traps material inside.
Solution: Immediately stop the crusher, clear the blocked material, and repair the motor or related components.
Severe wear or damage to the mantle and concave (moving and fixed cones), allowing oversized material to clog the discharge opening.
Solution: Regularly inspect the mantle and concave for wear or damage, and replace them promptly if issues are detected.
Improper feeding practices:
1.Uneven, excessive, or insufficient feed.
2.Entry of iron pieces or other large non-crushable objects into the crushing chamber.
3.Use of feed material unsuitable for the crusher’s design.
Solution:
1.Ensure uniform and appropriate feeding rates.
2.Install magnetic separators or guards to prevent non-crushable objects from entering.
3.Verify that the feed material properties align with the crusher’s specifications.
By systematically addressing these factors, cone crusher blockages can be effectively prevented and resolved.
