A standard sand production line typically consists of five main processes: Feeding, Crushing (Primary and Secondary), Sand Making, Screening, and Conveying.
1.Feeding Process – Vibrating Feeder
A vibrating feeder, also known as a feed hopper, is generally used at the initial stage, preceding the primary crushing equipment. During operation, it uniformly, steadily, and continuously feeds bulk or granular materials from the storage hopper into the crusher.
2.Crushing Process – Primary and Secondary Crushing
Primary Crushing: This stage typically uses a Jaw Crusher, known for its reliable performance, high crushing ratio, and robust construction.
Secondary Crushing: This stage employs either a Cone Crusher or an Impact Crusher.
Cone Crushers are primarily used for crushing high-hardness rocks. They feature a sturdy structure and long service life.
Impact Crushers are mainly used for secondary/fine crushing of soft to medium-hardness stones, producing uniformly graded end products.
3.Sand Making Process – Sand Maker (VSI Crusher)
Sand making is a crucial step in the production line. Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) Crushers or Impact Sand Makers are commonly used for fine crushing, shaping, and grinding materials to produce the desired sand product.
4.Screening Process – Vibrating Screen
Since the material discharged from the crushers is a mixture of various sizes, a Vibrating Screen is used to classify the gravel into different particle sizes. This ensures a rational and well-graded aggregate product mix.
5.Conveying Process – Belt Conveyor
Belt Conveyors are essential for material handling throughout the production line. They offer significant advantages, including high conveying capacity, long conveying distance, simple structure, and easy maintenance. Their use facilitates programmable control and automated operation, making them indispensable in a sand manufacturing plant.
